This is rambler/climbing rose that is magenta purple or perhaps mauve is a better description of the color. Flowers are semi-double (9-16 petals), about 1.5" across, cupped bloom form, in large clusters. It has been called the repeat-flowering Veilchenblau.
It has a good fragrance, strong at different times of the day. The plant is highly resistant to black spot and even won an ADR (German Rose Trials) award for being a no-spray bush.Â
