Marianne

Cuttings for this rose came from a dear customer. She grows a wonderful garden and felt like we would enjoy adding this to our stable. Bred by Paul Barden, Marianne is classed as a Hybrid Gallica. The blooms are very double, shallow cupped, and up to 4.5 inches across. . They are a wonderful shade of peach and have a strong fruity fragrance. Even though this rose is a spring bloomer, it blooms for a long period and covers itself with beautiful blooms. Fairly large and arching, give it plenty of room to show off.  Has done well in our zone 5 area but reported to be hardy in zone 4.

This is what Paul Barden has to say about this rose, "If I were to describe it in one phrase, I would say that 'Marianne' is like a peach-colored 'Charles de Mills', with its large, flat blossoms crammed full with swirls of petals. I'm very pleased with this hybrid and I hope others will come to appreciate it as well."
