I saw this rose growing in the David Austin Garden in England and fell in love at that time. The bud starts out a light crimson, but as the bloom opens it turns a deep velvety crimson with the outer petals still a bit lighter. The blooms are large and cupped when they first open but flatten out as they age. A nice bushy rose with good disease resistance. Strong Old Rose fragrance with hints of fruit. This rose was voted "Flower of the Year 2009 by readers of the French Magazine, Rustica. The American Rose Society has given it 8.0 rating for 2012 and listed it in the top 10 roses for the year. We completely agree.
We are short on inventory this season so order now if you are interested!
